Born in the village Starrominovka, Velikonovoselivskyi district of Donetsk region.
I went to the usual football section, played in competitions in the city and region. After school he served in the army. Speak on an amateur level for a long time - in particular, for clubs of villages Iskra and Uspenska. Then he began to play at FC Shaha Ukraina, who performed at the lowest third division of Donetsk region amateur championship of Ukraine, but each season his team increased in class. The main place of work was the police, and football is a hobby. Team coach Victor Grachev persuaded Vasily to concentrate on football.
In 1998, Victor Grachev was invited as a head coach to the club "Tavria" Simferopol. So in 23 years Vasyl Sachko first appeared in a professional team, where he called a well-known mentor.
On July 7, 1998, Vasyl Sachko debuted in the elite division. This happened in Simferopol against Shakhtar Donetsk, and his team won with a score of 2: 1.
Then Sachko again returned to the club "Mine Ukraine" and in 1999 with him won the amateur Cup of Ukraine. Later, the mine stopped financing the team and in 2000 Vasily moved to another amateur team "Monolith" Konstantinovka. Subsequently there was another "Oskol" (Kupyansk). In the new club, Sachko scored a lot and dropped the top goals of the partners, was the most highly paid player of the team.
In 2001, Sachko signed a contract with Lutsk "Volyn", which acted in the First League under the leadership of Vitaliy Kvartsiany. In the new club he became a real leader of the team. In the first season of 2001-2002, Vasyl Sachko became the best player in the championship and the best scorer, along with Victor Arieffiev, scoring 17 goals, and his team with a large gap took first place and went to the High League. On July 7, 2002, the striker debuted in the new team. This happened in Dnipropetrovsk against the local "Dnipro" (2:0). Having scored the first goal on September 12, 2002 in the goal "Kryvbasov" (2: 0). After the 2002-2003 season, his team won the highest 6th place, and scoring 8 goals, he only gave one to the best scorer - Samir Aliyev. After some time Vasyl Sachko became the captain and chief scorer of the team. In the season 2005-2006, despite the 13 goals, Volyn, along with Kryvbas and Kharkiv FC scored 33 points, but because of the difference scored scored goals scored 15th place and flew to the First League. For 5 seasons in Volyn, he has played 171 matches and scored 63 goals, including 40 goals in the High League, thus becoming the best scorer of the team in the elite division.
From the 2006-2007 season, Sachko began to perform in Kryvbas. There he spent 2 seasons, playing 58 games in the High League (22 with a captain's band) and scored 10 goals. Following the first 3 matches of the 2008-2009 season in Kryvy Rih, the attacker, on the rights of a free agent, switched to FC Vorskla.
Having scored both goals in replaying the semi-final match of the Ukrainian Cup 2008-09 against Metalist and the winning goal of Vorskians in the final with Shakhtar, which brought the first Cup in Ukraine to the Poltava players in the history of the club. According to the results of the season, his team ranked 5th.
August 1, 2009 in the match of the 3rd round of the championship of Ukraine 2009-2010 against Shakhtar held his 200th match in the highest division of Ukraine.
Since "Vorskla" won the Ukrainian Cup, she won the right to take part in the Europa League 2009-2010. In the third qualifying round, the draw took the team with Benfica. On August 20, 2009 Vasil Sachko made his debut in Euro Cups at the Da Luz stadium at the age of 34. Vorskla has lost at the exit - 0: 4. The match-match was held in Poltava on August 27, 2009. On the 48th minute, Vasyl Sachko scored José Moreira, and on the results of the game his team won - 2: 1, but failed to get into the group stage.
In the 2010-2011 season, Sachko scored 10 goals in the Ukrainian championship, becoming the best scorer of his team, sharing the 6th place in the ranking of scorers championship with Andrei Shevchenko, Luis Adriano and Alexey Antonov.
