Sports Director, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.
Born May 2, 1947 in the Bryansk region in the family of a military. Football began to admire the city of Pryluky, which was in Chernihiv, where the father was transferred. I worked at a local youth school. He graduated from Pryluky secondary school, continued his studies at the Belarussian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. During the training he played for the institute football team for the championship of Minsk.
From 1970 to 1972 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. In 1973, having demobilized, he came to Poltava to a permanent place of residence, where at that time were his parents.
Before the army was recruited, he began work as a teacher of physical education in the Minsk region. Since 1973 he has been working at the Committee for Physical Education and Sports at the Poltava City Executive Committee under the leadership of Boris Maslov. In 1975 he headed the city sports committee, where he worked until 1987. In the same year, he responded to the invitation of Victor Pozhachevsky to go to work at the revived FC Vorskla. He was appointed head of the team, which worked until 2002. From then on, for two years, headed the Committee on football development in the regions under the Poltava regional football federation. From 2004 till 2005 - Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education of the Poltava Pedagogical University. In June 2005, he was a participant in the final stage of the 7th Ukrainian Universiade among students. He worked as the head of the Poltava football team, becoming a silver medalist. In the same year he was appointed Sport Director of FC Vorskla, where he successfully works until today.
In 2006, Gennadiy Slyusarev was awarded the title «Honorary Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine», and in 2009, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the title «Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine».
